WHW ~ What we do

The purpose of Women Helping Women is to encourage, support, educate and reinforce independent living for women coming from safe houses, addictive rehabilitation, and economic hardship. The program provides a platform helping women launch themselves back into the work force. Learning good business sense to sustain independent living is also an important goal of Women Helping Women. In cooperation with different local service organizations, and small businesses in the Tri-State area, and professional motivational speakers, women are aided with creating a resume, and interview best practices, building their confidence to be successful in their employment.

Thank you to our Sponsors!

Everyone at Colorado River Women's Council could not have provided this opportunity to so many women without the help of our volunteers and our sponsors Legacy Foundation and Legacy Connection. It is through their support that we are able to make a difference! Thank you!

Planning 2025 Event

Closing out 2024- looking ahead to 2025

The CRWC closed out 2024 event by meeting to go over feedback that the participants gave. Some of the highlights of the event were the guest speakers that told their story of what they went through and where they are today. The group is already brainstorming/planning for the 2025 event.  If you would like to know more on how you can help Women within our community, please reach out via our contact now at bottom of page.

I want to thank you for a wonderful day. I actually felt like a Lady. All of us had so much fun and it was long needed. We had a blast. Thank you for everything. Love you ladies!

About SEEDS OF HOPE

What we do

On Good Friday, the Seeds of Hope committee had the most wonderful experience at one of Westcare houses. We spent a few hours sharing laughter and love.

Chef Tish and Sous Chef Darlene treated everyone to delicious charcuterie boards, pasta salad, and an array of delightful finger foods.  And let’s not forget crafty Christine, who truly hit a home run with her homemade cookies! They were a huge hit!

We enjoyed a craft activity where each woman and child got to personalize their lantern.  Plus, a few got to paint rocks—what a fun and expressive activity! The small group setting allowed us to connect on a deeper level, and it felt incredible to sit with each woman and listen to their stories. After all, we know how uplifting it is when someone truly listens.

For those who may not know, the Seeds of Hope program is an extension of Women Helping Women. Every quarter, the committee visits a WestCare home, shares what CRWC does, and delivers a short inspiring talk about being the light that led to meaningful discussions. Today, one of the 11-year-olds on our survey told us that, in their eyes, "nothing needs to change." That’s truly the biggest blessing we could receive!

I would also like to take a moment to thank the Legacy Foundation for their generous support as a corporate sponsor of the Women Helping Women program. Additionally, we’re grateful for the anonymous donation CRWC received for our Seeds of Hope events. Your contributions make such a difference!

Thank you all for your dedication and love for this cause. Together, we are making a positive impact!

PS.  Anyone wanting to be on the committee, please let Barb Weber know at suitebarbie@yahoo.com or text 909-544-7256

Warmest regards,

Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide essential services and support to those in need, ranging from educational programs and health initiatives to cultural events and volunteer opportunities. We believe in fostering a sense of unity and empowerment within the community, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.

A recent visit to The BHHS Legacy Foundation Christine Stamper Center for Help and Hope is an example of how we work within the tri-state communities.  Thank you to Make It Your Tour BHC for sponsoring this event.
