26th Annual Colorado River Women’s Council Boom Box Parade Brings Holiday Magic to Bullhead City
Bullhead City, AZ, December 7, 2024 — The 26th Annual Colorado River Women’s Council Boom Box Parade lit up the streets on December 6, 2024, with over 100 creative entries, despite challenges from strong winds and last-minute mechanical issues for 12 floats. An enthusiastic crowd lined the route to experience this year’s themes, “The Spirit of Giving” and “Celebration in a Snow Globe,” inspiring unique and imaginative holiday scenes.
The parade, lasting an hour and a half, showcased everything from intricately decorated UTVs to nativity scenes and even a baptismal tank from local churches. Every entry incorporated a boombox to enhance their holiday spirit, filling the air with festive music. Tow truck entries emphasized the importance of safe driving during the holiday season, reminding everyone to avoid texting or driving under the influence.
The judges had their work cut out for them selecting winners among the extraordinary entries. After much deliberation, the following were recognized:
- Best Overall: #89 Tri-State AC Hero/ M & R Water Heroes with their 3-piece Frozen Float
- Women’s Council Award: #42 Veterans in Motion Patriot Band
- Best Use of a Boombox: #52 Northwest Mohave County Cinderella Scholarship Program
- Most Creative: #65 Desert Star Academy
- Young Wonder Award: #55 La Rosa de Michoacan
- Best Use of Theme: #1 Mohave Electric Co-op
- Crowd Pleaser: #34 Valley View Medical Center
- Most Enthusiastic: #11 Tri-State Equipment Rentals
